Jeffrey Hyslip is the Managing Attorney in Legal Helper’s Fair Collection Law Department where he practices exclusively Consumer Litigation and focuses on the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA).. Jeffrey has been mentioned in newspapers across the Country, and has received and complied with numerous requests for interviews from reporters and journalists. Furthermore, Jeffrey has instructed hundreds of clients, employees, and citizens on the FDCPA.
Jeffrey received his Bachelor of Science from Bowling Green State University and his Juris Doctor, with honors, from Capital University Law School. In Law School, while on a Dean’s Academic Scholarship, Jeffrey authored his thesis on The Fair Debt Collection Practices Act wherein he discussed how the Act is a form of legislative mercy.
During his previous employment, Jeffrey performed consulting work for collection agencies to ensure corporate adherence to the FDCPA and helped manage the Consumer Collection, Commercial Collection and Residential Foreclosure departments at three Creditor’s Rights law firms. Jeffrey represented dozens of creditors, collection agencies and secured and unsecured creditors. While doing so, several of his articles on the FDCPA were published in trade journals, bar journals and newspapers throughout the Country. Jeffrey’s experience with representing the “other side?directly translates into success for our clients.
During Law School, Jeffrey clerked for the Franklin County Common Pleas Court, the Columbus City Council Legislative Research Office and a Consumer Law firm.
